About Jodia Peters
I’ve been living in Fort Collins since 1992. I have had a lot of personal birth experiences with my nine children.
I have experienced medicated and unmedicated births, planned and unplanned cesareans, preterm birth, VBAC, and first and second-trimester loss. The personal education I gained from my own life started me on the journey to know the importance of informed decision-making, and see the need for a trusting relationship with care providers.
I attended my first birth when my oldest was 2 months old. I supported friends and family y through the years of having my own children. I stared becoming professionally involved with births in early 2017 and I became Certified with widely known organizations such as Stillbirthday as a Bereavement Doula, DONA as a Birth Doula, CAPPA as a Childbirth, Breastfeeding, New Parent Educator, and Spinning Babies as a Parent Educator.
I have also been a local Chapter Leader for the International Cesarean Awareness Network, also known as ICAN of Loveland.
Because of my own experiences and training, my vision is for parents to grow in confidence through their pregnancy and birth of their children. I have been privileged to be part of a sacred rite of passage, to play a role in shaping positive birth experiences, and to advocate for evidence-based, woman-centered care. Each birth I attend, each mother I support, and each family I have encountered reaffirm my commitment to my calling of providing compassionate and well-informed care to women and their families. I believe parents can feel confident in themselves through their births which can inspire them as they raise their children.
I love to connect with families through prenatal care, fostering a personal relationship that makes each journey unique and special. Every moment spent with expectant parents allows me to understand their hopes, concerns, and values, creating a strong bond built on trust and open communication. This relationship not only enhances the care I provide but enriches the overall experience, making it more heartfelt and fulfilling for families as they prepare to welcome their new addition.
I graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Mercy in Action College of Midwifery. I passed my NARM exam in June 2024. I am excited to service familes in Northern Colorado with their plans for a home birth.
I love working with other amazing local midwives who have challenged and shaped me to become the midwife I am.
