Whether you are planning on giving birth in your Home, Birth Center or Hospital it is important to have the personalized support you need.
It can make all the difference in celebrating the journey into parenthood.
With my experience and certifications I have a unique ability to truly understand and empathize with you in labor, giving you suggestions for comfort or progress and supporting you and your partner together in this journey of meeting your new baby.
A Doula is is a professional trained in childbirth who provides emotional, physical, & educational support to a family who is expecting, is experiencing labor, or has recently given birth. A doula’s purpose is to help birthing families have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience.
I am no longer taking new doula clients, as I have started my journey to become a midwife! Contact me if you’d like some suggestions for other great doulas in the area!
Trusting to invite me into your birthing space is very important to me as your doula. I enjoy getting to know the families I support so I know your needs and your expectations of me of how I can best support you both in labor.
I like to meet with you at least twice in your pregnancy to discuss your birth preferences and situations regarding pregnancy, labor, childbirth and postpartum. I provide information and answer any questions you have. I am also happy provide resources and referrals for additional information. I am available for you as you look forward to meeting your baby.
During Your Birth
I am available and ready to arrive at your home, hospital or birth center whenever you desire. I am happy to come to your house until you are ready to travel to your place of birth. Once your active labor starts, I will remain with you, supporting you and your partner in any way that benefits you through the entire length of your birthing process. I support you both with different labor techniques, relaxation options and labor positions. If your plans unexpectedly change, I have experience (both professionally and personally) to walk along beside you no matter how your situation unfolds.
After baby is born.
The day after your baby is born, or you come home from the hospital I will meet with you to be sure feeding your baby is going well, and give you support as you need. I am happy to give you ongoing breastfeeding support as well. Having someone to support you with knowledge and personal experience after your baby has arrived can make all the difference as you start this journey to parenting. I am available for questions and resources after this newborn time, as you are tackling teething, starting solids or even potty training!
